A Happy Valley, Oregon year runs on a small set of traditions that come back every season, organized mostly by the City of Happy Valley and local partners. From the Saturday farmers market to the winter tree lighting, these recurring events are how the community stays a community, and they are a big part of what buyers ask about before moving here.

Dates and times shift from year to year, so we link every event to its organizer. Our Community Calendar page keeps the same list updated in one place.

The Happy Valley Farmers Market

Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., from the first Saturday in May through the end of October at 13231 SE Sunnyside Road. Run by Sunnyside Farmers Markets, it draws roughly a hundred vendors with produce, flowers, food trucks, and live music, and it also operates a large December holiday market. Check sunnysidefarmersmarkets.com for the seasonal schedule.

Concerts in the Valley

Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., through July and August at Happy Valley Park, 13770 SE Ridgecrest Road. The city's free summer concert series draws festival-style crowds on the lawn. Bring a chair and a picnic; the lineup publishes on the City of Happy Valley events pages.

The Fourth of July Family Festival

July 4 is an all-day affair at Happy Valley Park, starting with a morning hike with the Happy Valley Hikers and running through a community parade and festival. The City of Happy Valley organizes it and posts details on its community events page.

National Night Out

Early August brings a block-party evening at Happy Valley Park in partnership with the Happy Valley Police Department, Clackamas Fire District #1, and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. It is the best excuse of the year to meet everyone on your street.

Light Up the Valley and the Tree Lighting

December belongs to the lights. The city's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, with music and refreshments, usually lands in the first week of December. Light Up the Valley, a holiday lights display and neighborhood contest run by parks and community services, turns Happy Valley streets into a nightly drive-through show. Both are organized by the City of Happy Valley. Light Up the Valley details live on the city's parks pages.

How we keep this list

We are the Happy Valley Home Team, the MORE Realty affiliate behind Hello Happy Valley and Happy Valley Insider, so keeping track of the community's calendar is part of the job we were already doing. When you work with us, you get the running list, in your inbox when you want it, plus the neighborhood context that makes each event worth your Saturday.
